Infection control

Proper hand hygiene is the best way to prevent the spread of infections, and we ask all visitors to please use the hand sanitizing stations located throughout our facilities as they enter the hospital, before and after visiting patients, before and after eating, and after using the washroom.

If you, or your children, feel unwell or have a fever, cough, diarrhea or vomiting, please do not visit patients in the hospital. You could infect your loved one, another visitor or a staff member, putting others at risk. Please reschedule your visit for when you are feeling better.

Balloons

Mylar balloons are perfectly fine, but we do not allow latex balloons at the hospital to protect patients and staff members with allergies or sensitivities to latex.

Smoking policy

For everyone’s safety, The Scarborough Hospital and all of its satellite sites are smoke-free facilities. As of February 2010, smoking is not permitted anywhere on the hospital property.
